• Immersing myself totally into sweet music has forever been my favorite escape and my best kind of reverie.
• I feel unplugged really whenever I find my earpiece getting faulty a little bit, or totally useless at that.
• And this is simply not a review my friend, but my own tasteful kind of yearning, in melodies and in tunes.
• Fast songs, slow songs, spoken music, dreamy kind, high-energy kind as well. My most recent playlist in rotation I guess so let’s get into it….
☆ Persuaded.
I simply cannot get enough of this music is so refreshing. It’s in the tunes I guess, the message, the delivery, and the softness that just melts my heart all together.
The lore behind how I came about this one song hunts me still but the appreciation and love for good music shall beat all odds in comparison.
I’d imagine a huge hand of the Prince of peace, gently nudging at my chin, as he moves me to face his presence, occasionally whispering towards me, with his eyes locked in mine— “keep your eyes on me darling”.
My spirit melts under the gentle whisperings of his sweet alluring voice and I’ve never in my life at this moment, felt so safe, so held and fully seen, so I immediately shed a tear.
☆ Simple Things.
This man Tay, has always had this soothing effect in his voice that it feels serenading to listen when he renders. Like he’s trying to lure you back to sleep in this jiggy afro tunes by the way. Straight to the point with the intended theme as he passes across, “my happiness won’t be compromised”.
A simple man with his simple music but it’s heavily felt by the audience set on same mood and frequency.
I listen to this song and I slowly get into dancing softly and as jiggy as I possibly can, it’s an art.
☆ Happy Survival.
And this one’s nostalgic for me as it takes me back in time where I remember growing up as a kid, playing, outside on the bare red sandy ground with my shirt off, no slipper and my shorts on.
My daddy’s radio blasting right beneath his feet, as he is too sited outside right in front of the compound tree, reading his daily news. Ohh I remember. What good ole days those were.
Just a kid being a kid and in the back of my mind, daddy’s here, daddy’s watching, and daddy will always keep me safe.
I miss the sweet easy feeling this song brings me so I’m gonna go play it once more and bask in it as I write.
☆ Makojo
i don’t know what it is about songs like these, but they sound so alive and breathing. The sanctity of the instruments used in this song I do feel. It feels very kind of sacred piece of music, which is used in communicating with the people while channeling transcendental melodies. And the voice? — to die for.
Sometimes I play this one, when I’m needing to reminisce and dwell in time. To remember and then to forget as well. Hanging on just a little bit tighter than I should , on memories that were absolutely beautiful whenever I choose to dwell on them.
• This song is simply a vibe. ☆
☆ Alive.
My all time favorite banger. Dami Oniru — a genius with this song. The way she combines both an amazing beat and a purposeful lyric that not only relates to you but invites you to a journey inwards.
I listen to this song and I’m feeling so much better. My mood gets vibey at first, then the weight gets even lighter during and afterwards. A win-win for me.
Nothing gets me better than an intentional artist with purpose through music, and I’m feeling Dami is quite intentional with her sounds and lyrics. I’m glad about that.
☆ 2 Nice Wid It.
This younger dude really did do his thing on this one. He let out his own star shine and his own heart beating through his music. Making his mark on it while also delivering a decent nice tune and vibe.
I love this song because it scratches an itch in my one busy mind that seems to get it all at once. I enjoy the pace at which it drives you. Even at that fast moving pace still it appears to me, so delicate in melody I cannot explain.
And this fast song somewhat doesn’t feel chaotic to even hear. Just because it is fast don’t mean it’s a noise to the listening ear. It onlydelivers swiftly and its out wid it when it’s done you’ll feel it through.
☆ Lucky Day.
When I need to go get loose and let off some stiffness I hear this one music. Reggae plus womanhood, always do go hand in hand. The admiration when done feels majestic and loyal in a sense. It makes you not only appreciate good music but adore the art of being a woman.
A thing not to be shamed but accepted. A thing not to hinder but celebrated. A kind of gender that births life must be protected and valued truly.
This one simply does it. ☆
☆ Angel.
“Girl you’re my angel, you’re my darling ba-byyyy.”
Shaggy is a classic and I love classic. It holds taste. It holds art and grace in music. It reverberates through time as the music of the day each time you play it.
It never fails to entertain simply.
☆ Quick intimacy.
• I simply do not desire quick intimacy.
• Thank you for reading!
• Till next time my friend <3
I can’t wait to listen to these x
